Participatory Development Facility
The participatory Development Facility is a funding mechanism established by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The PDF is one of three facilities managed through the Participatory Development Program.
The primary focus of the PDF is capacity development. Eligible organizations will be expected to apply innovation and new approaches through their funded project in order to strengthen the quality and impact of their activities. By addressing capacity development needs through project activities, the PDF will provide Egyptian organizations with the opportunity to learn by doing.
The PDF and organization will work together to develop or strengthen technical skills in participatory development, including project design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation; strengthen knowledge and skills to apply rights-base approaches to project activities; and build linkages and collaborative relationships with other organizations - including those in government, where appropriate - in order to more effectively represent their community. The PDF will also assist organizations strengthen their internal organizational systems and processes. PDF financial and capacity development support will be delivered with the ultimate goal of helping organizations become more effective in their work through building both advanced program delivery skills and addressing internal organizational needs.
The PDF will support promising organizations working in geographic and programming areas that support and strengthen CIDA's program in Egypt.
The PDF supports organizations and activities that address existing barriers to the realization of rights by members of marginalized groups, such as access to economic development and educational opportunities; access to legal entitlement and opportunities to participate in identifying and addressing community priorities.
